
The Financial Controller reports directly to the Group Controller. This role prepares, coordinates and submits the financial reporting activities of the Company to ownership. Regular responsibilities include appraising operating results in terms of costs, budgets, trends and increased profit opportunities as well as overseeing and supporting financial analysis for several strategic objectives of the Company. This position serves as the company’s “Trusted Business Advisor” and “Financial Conscience.”
Duties and Responsibilties
- Works independently while maintaining high degree of accuracy in publication of reports/analysis to internal and external customers.
- Prepares financial statements and monthly reporting package and provides support for variance analysis and auditor questions as necessary. Meets appropriate deadlines for monthly reporting.
- Performs appropriate financial analysis and prepares regular and ad hoc reports about company financial status as directed by the Group Controller
- Ensures the accounting records underlying the financial statements accurately and fairly reflect the transactions of the company.
- Oversees, directs, and evaluates financial management information (including accounting systems) and takes appropriate steps to ensure the security of all accounting records, computer programs & company records.
- Understands risk management program, including types of business insurance coverage. Also identifies and coordinates any business insurance claims.
- Manages time effectively, communicates well with others, exhibits a positive attitude and a team-oriented spirit, and strives to continuously improve business processes and contribute to the company’s overall success.
- Lead or co-lead transversal special financial projects
Require Skills and Experience
- The duties and responsibilities described above are the essential functions of the job. The qualifications below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.
- Master degree or equivalent in Accounting or Finance required. CPA and/or MBA preferred.
- Extensive experience including strong leadership, communication, and team building skills.
- Able to communicate effectively, both verbally as well as through multiple forms of media.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, database software and other applicable accounting and financial software and systems.
- Strong knowledge of BE GAAP and working knowledge of IFRS is a plus
- Proven management-level skills in financial reporting, cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting and inventory valuation, with strong track record of accurate and timely financial reporting.
